Meet Paul
Hey Paul. Tell us, what’s your role at Punch?
P: Senior Web Developer
What are you responsible for at Punch?
P: My role is to provide a senior level of experience to the web development department. My main tasks are coding websites with WordPress, Magento, Laravel and much more.
I started out at Punch in December 2016; I saw an opportunity to further my web development knowledge with a company who had the resources for me to do that. As my presence in the team expanded, so did my responsibilities, leading me to the role of Senior Developer. In this role, I took charge of creating a brand-new working practice for the web department, leading from the start of web projects right through to the end. This involved implementing a whole new build technique, repository setups, live and staging deployment methods and much more. In my role I tend to work on a lot of different projects. I enjoy problem solving and tend to be given the more thought out projects.
What’s the thing you’re known for?
P: I like problem solving. If the guys ever get stuck with something that’s broken, something that needs investigation, something that needs in depth thought, I always seem to be able to help with that. This is why I ended up doing projects such as Clip, Visu, stocks ect.

What’s been your favourite Punch project to work on?
P: I really enjoyed producing the holiday calendar for Punch as this was outside scope and something I did in my spare time to learn more Laravel. In terms of in house work I would say Visu as this was outside the box with creating an large xml data map when customers create a new order
That sounds so interesting. What’s your lifestyle like outside of Punch?
P: I have a 4 year old son so we love going on walks in the countryside as a family. I am interested in most sports but mainly love football and f1. Gaming is also one of my interests but this has faded out with the 4 year old!
