Hey Caitlin. What’s your job at Punch?
C: I’m a Junior Communications Executive
Awesome. What was your dream job when you were little?
C: I had a few ideas when I was really young: lawyer, actress, interior designer, but mainly I’ve always just wanted to write. It’s been my main passion and the power of language will never cease to amaze me.
What do your days look like as a Junior Communications Executive?
C: The role is quite expansive, but largely I work with internal and external communications and PR. I work within the Marketing and PR team to create long form copy like blogs, work on influencer campaigns, assist with content creation and shoots, and provide support with campaign.
Interesting. What do you love the most about your role?
C: I’m really engaged by the varied nature of the job role in terms of tasks, skills, opportunities, and clients. The ability to be creative and collaborate with others is something that drew me to it, and the office environment and culture at Punch is perfect for being able to draw on the skillset and knowledge of others to create something really special.
What’s the thing you think you’re best known for at Punch?
C: While I’ve only been at Punch for a short time, I’m probably known for having deep knowledge of niche subjects, meaning I’m able to answer strange questions. That – and my hair, making me easily identifiable.

What’s your favourite place in the whole world?
C: It’s not too exotic but it would probably be Easby Abbey in North Yorkshire. I’m a big fan of exploring ruins and as one of the best preserved monasteries in England, it’s a stunning site. It’s also where my brother got married so it holds special memories for me now.
It sounds really interesting! Time for a hypothetical, what animal would you be?
C: I’d probably be a sand cat. They look small and quite sweet but they’re a very strange animal. They even bark like a dog.
That’s a unique choice. Outside of work, what’s your lifestyle like?
C: Busy, wholesome, social. I’m vegan, like to help out in my community, and love movie nights with friends. I perform spoken word so I’ll often be at different events around the North as well as post-punk, noise, and hardcore gigs.
Can you leave us with a saying or a quote you live by?
C: It’s either ‘”Leave your ego at the door” and something poet John Clifford says often: “move with kindness.”
