Meet Jade

Hello Jade! What’s your role at Punch?
J: I’m a Midweight Designer

Wonderful. What did you want to be when you grew up?
J: I wanted to be a vet. I love animals and wanted to be surrounded by them all day.

What do you do as a Midweight Designer at Punch?
J: I conceptualise visuals and develop designs as well as developing digital content for web and social media, including animation/motion graphics, and video editing.

That sounds very interesting. What do you enjoy the most about that role?
J: I love how you can work on a variety of different things, and how they come together to make a really cool campaign.

What’s the thing you’re known best for?
J: Animation and web projects are my specialty, basically anything that needs a dose of something “extra” – it’s great to see static designs come to life in motion.

What’s been your favourite project to work on so far during your time at Punch?
J: I enjoy working on any project that lets me use my animation skills or creative flair. Working on the animated ForHousing annual report was a great project to apply my skills and develop them further.

I also really liked creating Instagram filters for DUNKIN’ and Splendid Hospitality. It was something we had never done before, at the time, and was an interesting one to play about with.

That must have been really fun to get stuck into. While I’m sure you adore the Punch office, where’s your favourite place in the world?
J: Magnetic Island in Australia. It’s a small island that I visited when I was travelling. We went round in 4x4s and watched the sunset (and nearly died driving the car, but that’s a story for another time!)

I can’t wait to hear that story! If you were an animal, what would you be?
J: I wasn’t sure how to answer this so I resorted to a good old Buzzfeed quiz. Apparently I am like a Shiba – curious, friendly, loyal, and always have a smile on my face!

Thank God for internet quizzes. What would you say your lifestyle like?
J: I love adventure! You can often find me walking and travelling, as well as indoor bouldering. I’m always planning my next gig, I can’t go too long without one in my calendar.

What saying do you live by?
J: “It’ll be reyt” – just because everything will be alright in the end. I’ve even got a poster at home with it on.
