Meet Karen

Hey Karen, what’s your role at Punch?
K: Office & Finance Manager

What did you want to be when you grew up?
K: I was set on being a show jumper – and I would have been a bloody good one too!

What does being an Office & Finance Manager entail?
K: I deal with the day to day administration and bookkeeping for the business. Basically, it’s my job to keep the office in check!

It’s a great thing we have you then. What do you love about your job?
K: I love being organised, and making sure things run smoothly! I get my kicks from thinking of the little details that sometimes may otherwise be missed. Plus, I don’t just work for Punch, we are friends as well as being a team.

That’s lovely! What would you say you’re best known for?
K: Let’s just say, there’s a reason why the annual team BBQ is always at my farm! I am a massive people person and really enjoy bringing people together. I think this is really important as the stronger the team, the stronger our work.

What’s been your favourite Punch project to work on?
K: I couldn’t choose – that’s like asking me to choose my favourite chicken! I honestly love all the work each department creates, I’m Punch’s biggest (and some would say longest) fan.

That’s completely fair, I won’t make you pick! Tell us, where’s your favourite place?
K: My Polytunnel. It’s peaceful and a great place to relax.

Sounds amazing. If you were going to be an animal, what would you be?
K: I’d be one of my dogs, every time.

What would you say your lifestyle is like?
K: I live a very outdoor, rural life. I adore animals and gardening. My Husband and I live on a farm with horses, dogs, chickens, ducks and pigs.

Most of my spare time is spent looking after the animals, riding, and tending to my fruit and veg (which I make into preserves to sell in the local corner shop).

One last question before we let you get back to your furry friends – Do you have a saying you love to live by?:
K: “Make every day count.”
