Hello! I’m Pip, normally you would find me at Leeds University working away on various briefs set by my Graphic Design course tutors.
But for now I am one of two new additions of the Punch Creative design team in Leeds! I am here as part of my course, I have this brilliant opportunity to complete a year in the design industry to gain some vital knowledge about how it all works.
After I had competed all the necessary workshops, it was time to look for design agencies willing to take on internships. I was keen to complete my internship in the Leeds area, and the search began…

Punch Creative are a design agency in Leeds, and their website caught my eye immediately, so when I saw a tweet saying that they were looking for an intern, I got in contact straight away. It literally all began with a tweet! I sent off my portfolio, and within a few days I was invited down to the studio for a chat. Portfolio in hand, I headed to Farsley.

A few days later I was called back for another chat, where I met my fellow intern Liv. We were greeted with the news that Punch wanted to take us both on and a start date of the 1st July was arranged.
An aspect of Punch’s work that really stood out to me was the work they do for Cascade HR, the illustrative style really appeals to me and I would like to incorporate this into my own work. Plus Punch are a friendly bunch and their team seem to have a great relationship with each other and the clients they work with.
Within my first few weeks at Punch I had been involved in a wide range of briefs, including logo designs, video production, social media artwork, leaflets, flyers, adverts and helping to come up with artwork for a client presentations.
I have now been here a month, I already feel as though I have learnt so much and have got involved with a wide range of different briefs, and I can’t wait to see what else I’m going to be involved in.
