Is your website mobile-friendly after the google algorithm change?

Tuesday 21st of April has been labelled ‘mobilegeddon’ due to the fact that Google are updating their mobile search algorithm.

Last year saw the web prediction come true that mobile devices would exceed PC or desktop use and Google has changed to match these statistics. This update will impact all mobile phone searches and will give page ranking boosts to any mobile-friendly websites and in turn, drop any non-friendly sites.

Google has said…
“Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high-quality search results that are optimized for their devices.”
As people increasingly search on their mobile devices, we want to make sure they can find content that’s not only relevant and timely, but also easy to read and interact with on smaller mobile screens.

Google has offered a testing URL to see if your website does conform to these new changes and if you need any assistance with testing your site and assistance with making your site mobile-friendly, call our web team today at our Leeds Digital Agency on 0113 255 7285.
